Andersen, Ditte Caroline
Danish Citizen, born September 16th 1976.
Two home-staying stepchildren (2007-2013), two children born 5th of March 2012 and August 22th 2014.

EDUCATION
2008 Ph.d (ph.d school for Stem Cells), Medical Faculty, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) on the project ”Identification and characterization of side population (SP) cells in preparation for cell therapy of muscle disease”.
2003 Cand.scient, biomedicine, SDU, Master project ”Identification and Characterization of Surface Markers on human Mesenchymal Stem Cells”.

CURRENT POSITIONS
2009- Senior researcher and Co-group-leader at the Laboratory and Molecular and Cellular Cardiology (LMCC); Odense University Hospital funded by department research money.
2013 – Associate Professor (10%) at Institute of Clinical Research (ICR), SDU.                                             2015-Associated to Danish Stem Cell Center (DANSTEM) through a collaboration grant.

LEADERSHIP AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT
2007 – As a co-group-leader I have had the responsibility for running a lab with 10-12 research members and projects on a daily basis, including supervision of all PhD/Master/bachelor students and technicians, project design/planning, fundraising and all administrative tasks. On 2009, I additionally became group-leader of my own group associated to LMCC, and from 2014 I was assigned as work package leader (PRESENT PROJECT) in the Danish Center for Regenerative Medicine.

FELLOWSHIPS, AWARDS, AND GRANTS
2015 – Reached final interview stage at Lundbeckfondens fellowships.                                                       2014 oct. 8th Has reached final interview stage for ERC starting grants in Brussels on part of REPHEART.
2010-2012 3-years fellowship from the Danish National Research Council.
2009-2014 Total grants obtained: 1.564.458€ or 11.676.022 dkr.

MAIN SUPERVISION AND TEACHING
2007- Supervisor at LMCC/OUH/SDU/DK for: 2 postdocs, 7 ph.d students, 3 research assistents, 3 medical pregraduate students, 3 master students, 1 ITEK student, and 5 bachelor students on subjects within heart development, regeneration and disease, as well as stem cell- and Dlk1 biology and cell transplantation.
2010- Teaching, supervising and examining medical bachelor students (2×16 students; spring/autumn) on Medical Bachelor projects related to Cardiac Stem Cells, at SDU. Approx. 100 hours/year.

CAREER BREAKS
Maternity leave (Feb. 4th 2012-Dec.3rd 2012) and expected (Aug. 2014-March 2015).
